New Patients
What Patients Can Expect At Our Florida Chiropractic Office
Choosing the right chiropractor is not easy, but you have already done the hard work. You read over the types of conditions Dr. Singer commonly helps patients with. You looked into the various forms of treatment our office uses. You scanned our philosophy. You sought out testimonials. Maybe you even filled out a questionnaire or called Dr. Singer directly to learn more. Now you are ready to make an appointment. Or perhaps you have an appointment and want to know what to expect. That is what this page is all about – detailing what will happen on your initial appointment so you feel comfortable and come prepared. On this page, we will provide a general outline of how that first meeting will go, in addition to letting you know what to bring and what you can do to make things go as smoothly as possible. If you still have further questions after reading, please feel free to contact USA Health & Therapy via email at csin@bellsouth.net or by phone at (954) 563-6660.
What Patients Need To Bring On Their First Visit
Going to a new doctor means filling out forms. It’s an expected part of the process. Working with a chiropractor, though, is not quite the same as seeing a traditional medical doctor. There are certain things in your medical history that will be incredibly helpful for Dr. Singer to know. Learning this information can be vital in properly diagnosing and treating your problem. With that in mind, here are some things that we recommend you bring or know, so Dr. Singer can provide you with the best possible care:
- Contact information for your other doctors
- Medical records (including diagnostic and imaging tests, such as x-rays and MRIs)
- Insurance information, if available
- Information on any previous injuries (e.g., automobile, sports, or workers’ compensation accidents)
- Information on any previous circulatory incidents (e.g., a stroke or aneurysm)
- Information about any heart conditions (e.g., hypertension or high blood pressure)
- Information on bone problems and disorders (e.g., fractures or osteoporosis)
- Information on any previous disc injuries (e.g., bulging discs, protrusion, or herniation)
- Information on joint disorders (e.g., arthritis)
- Details on any episodes of dizziness or blurred vision that you have suffered
- Details on past or present infections, especially those affecting your spine
Want to save yourself some time at your initial appointment? Fill out our New Patient Form in advance of your first visit. It includes our health questionnaire, so you have plenty to time to think about your answers and seek out any associated records or information you think may be valuable. You will need to download the form, print it out, and fill in the required information. After you have completed the form, you are welcome to fax it to our offices – or simply bring it with you to your appointment.
AdobeReader® is required to download the form. If AdobeReader® is not installed on your computer, click here to download.
What Will Happen At Your First Appointment
Meeting with a new doctor for the first time can be stressful. Especially if you are not sure exactly what to expect. To alleviate new patient fears, this section breaks down each part of your visit in detail, so you know what will happen from the moment you walk into our doors to the second you leave.
Your initial visit to our Oakland Pak office will be broken down into six basic parts:
As soon as you enter USA Health and Therapy, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. Once the receptionist learns that this is your first visit with Dr. Singer, you will be asked if you have completed the New Patient forms mentioned in the above section and whether they were faxed in or with you.
If you have not completed them, you now have time to do so in the office until Dr. Singer is ready to see you.
The first part of your medical appointment with Dr. Singer will consist of a consultation. He will sit down with you to talk about chiropractic care and holistic healing and ask you about any health-related problems or concerns that you have.
Listening to you describe your issues, expectations, goals, and overall lifestyle will help him to determine how chiropractic care can best meet your goals and which treatment options are most likely to work for you.
Dr. Singer will next perform a complete examination. This includes neurological, orthopedic, and chiropractic tests, and if necessary, x-rays may even be taken. It goes without saying, of course, that nothing in our office will be done without your consent.
Once the examination is complete, Dr. Singer will go over the results to let you know what he found, what it means, and whether or not your condition requires care with other providers. Chiropractic can help with a great many things, but some issues are outside of our scope. If that is the case, we can recommend providers that we work with and trust.
At this point, Dr. Singer will also be happy to answer any questions you might have. Common questions that many patients have at this point include:
- How can you help me?
- How often do you need to come in?
- What will your treatment cost?
Finally, Dr. Singer will tell you what kind of treatment plan he recommends for you.
The final part of your visit. Before you leave, Dr. Singer will suggest a wellness program that he recommends you incorporate outside of your regular treatment.
For example, if you are in pain at the time of your visit, your Wellness Program may include:
- Instructions on applying ice or heat
- Certain activities or positions to avoid
- At home exercises and/or stretches
Our wellness team is also happy to work with you to help you create healthy habits and routines that fit with your lifestyle. The purpose of our wellness program is simple: an overall improved quality of life. That means not only helping you to achieve good spinal alignment, but also to eat a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
Options For Fort Lauderdale Residents To Pay For Our Chiropractic Care
At USA Health & Therapy, we believe that everyone should be able to experience the benefits of high-quality chiropractic care – no matter what your budget is. Because of this, we have carefully planned our pricing structure and accept a wide variety of payment options, including flexible payment programs when necessary.
Insurance
Our office accepts most insurance plans, and also accepts select auto accident, workers’ compensation, and personal injury cases.
Since specific plans and level of coverage vary widely, the best way to determine whether or not your plan will cover care in our office is to give us a call. Our experienced staff members are always happy to verify your coverage and explain your benefits before you undergo any treatment.
No Insurance
We understand that many people simply do not have insurance. Or you may have insurance, but it does not cover receiving chiropractic care. If this is your situation, there are still options.
Many of our patients pay directly for care, and are surprised to discover how cost-effective and affordable chiropractic treatments are when compared to other types of medical care.
There are a number of ways that you can pay directly. We may be able to create a customized plan specific to you and your family. As mentioned above, flexible payment options may be able to be arranged.
We accept cash, credit, debit, and checks.
Bottom line: do not neglect your health because you feel like you can’t afford the cost – either in money or time. Whatever your situation, please contact us. We will try to help!
